Videomarketing and the Youtube platform
While Youtube is a very powerful place to run ads, the organic side is also very interesting for any video producer.
Starting a Youtube Channel 2018
Maybe you have seen all these famous Youtubers with thousands of subscribers and millions of views on their channel and you asked yourself if you could do this too.
There is a study by Google telling there have never been so many new success stories on Youtube like last year so you can definitely become the next!
There are several requirements to get successful on Youtube:
• Have an interesting topic to vlog about
• Be consistent and upload several times a week
• Be patient, your Youtube Channel will not grow overnight
• Create appealing thumbnails, title, and channel art to identify
• Add consistent Tags for Youtube SEO
There are many more ideas to supercharge your channel but besides all good ideas, there is a tool called TubeBuddy to help you understand how your channel is progressing.
My Youtube Channel and its progress
I started my Youtube Channel under the short name “atticchris” in 2008 and over the years my videos have attracted a nice audience but while I was not active a lot in the past years my daily clicks dropped to a constant 1500 views a day.
At the beginning of 2018, I started to publish material from my archive and I used the techniques recommended by some of the big YouTubers. I also started to use TubeBuddy to find out the best tags for SEO purposes of my videos.
In mid-January 2018 my iMac started to have technical issues and I stopped publishing.
What happened? Youtube and its search brought me to a consistent 2800 views per day even after 3 month of not publishing. I am also registering consistency for subscribers and watch time.
Looks like this is the new level I am currently on and I will soon take an effort to bring it up some more.
TubeBuddy is integrated into your Youtube channel through a browser plugin for Google Chrome but you also get an additional overview when logged in to the tool.
I highly recommend this tool to anyone!
Next Youtube Channel growth steps
Some years ago you could post your Youtube videos on Facebook and they would playback, so this was a great growth possibility. Then Facebook became egocentric and started to push its own video features and did not playback Youtube videos anymore.
In my latest initiative, when I published more than 20 videos during the month of January 2018 I did not take advantage of my email lists I was also building for years so the traffic was mainly organic from Youtube search and subscribers.
The idea is, to send emails to my lists when publishing a video.
I will have you updated about the effect.
The development of these strategies is called growth hacking.
